Had to cut and re-weld 3 times because I didn’t quite get the measurements right (and once more because I dropped a little plate of metal into the box-section and couldn’t get it back out again...).
Gearbox sits nice and low, and there’s adjustability from stock position to about 1.5" further back if I fancy better weight distribution/bonnet clearance.
It’s also all go on the caravan car trailer front as I need it roadworthy to go pick up my other Spitfire on Tuesday ~220 miles away! I’ve just finished the bolt-on wheelarches and I mounted a manual winch as I don’t have time to wire up the electric one (plus it’s useful to have a backup), a spare wheel and a toolbox up front.
To get it legal and on the road I need to wire up the existing lights as well as a fog light, an illuminated numberplate and some side markers. Then I need to find some way of stopping the ramps from flying out backwards when I drive off and then I’m good to go!
